Hello, I am Sophie
Project manager. Parent. Expat living in Zurich, Switzerland.
A few years ago, I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary assignment gradually became a new chapter in life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to Switzerland wasn't part of the long-term plan. Like many expat relocations, it started as a job opportunity and quickly grew into something far bigger.
The initial months were tough — unfamiliar systems, new routines, rising expectations. Daily tasks seemed harder than they should.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, doubt, and plenty of hands-on learning. Yet gradually, routines emerged. We found places that fit us, connected with other families, and began building something that felt steady.
Why I Built Subtle Harbor Glow
Most online information was either corporate relocation guidance or shallow tourism material. What was missing was an honest, everyday family perspective.
This site aims to close that gap — practical guidance based on real life in Switzerland.
